A tram ride at snowbird:
Yesterday was the perfect day to spend in the mountains, enjoying a beautiful Utah fall day. And even better yet, was getting to spend the day in the mountains with our family enjoying the scenery on a tram ride up the mountain. Then there was the added bonus of it also being the annual German festival, Oktoberfest. What a crazy fun day it turned out to be.
First up on our agenda. The tram ride.
Although some were a little uncertain at first, all the kids really seemed to enjoy the ride.
Aubrey really seemed to enjoy the way the ride tickled her stomach. She's definitely a thrill seeker.
Finally at the top. You could see the whole valley from here. And then some.
The air was pretty smokey, but it was still beautiful nonetheless.
Half the group wanted to ride the regular ski lift back down the mountain, the rest of us took all 6 kids and rode the tram back to the bottom. We sat and ate lunch while we waited for the others to return.
Just as we were getting ready to leave, we decided to check out what was happening inside the big tent while my parents bought themselves an authentic brat and German cake. Boy am I glad that we did. Although there was a lot more beer walking around than I would ever choose to be around, the entertainment and music was so worth the stop. We ended up sticking around for another 2 hours or so as we listened to the band play, danced the polka, watched the clowns perform their tricks and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The little ones were even able to catch a few good winks despite the loud music and crazy dancing.
Would you believe me if I told you Zack stayed asleep while his Dad did all this crazy dancing?
Even while they danced the chicken dance...
And as you can tell, Brooklyn made herself a new friend. They danced the entire time together until her mom made her leave.
It was so much fun watching these couples dance, we just had to have our picture taken with them.
This guy had some pretty impressive tricks. And some mad balloon making skills.
And who doesn't love playing with parachutes?
Isn't this guy super dad? After running around for nearly 5 hours, these kids were beat and we still had to walk all the way back up the hill to get to our car. This only lasted a few minutes before I made Daddy put Brooklyn down though. Didn't want him to hurt himself.
We certainly had a wonderful time and will definitely be doing this again next year!
