School's out for the summer!!!!

...Or at least for the next 26 days...
That's the bad part about year round I guess.
But at least for the moment,
school  is out for the summer.

AND I NO LONGER HAVE A KINDERGARTNER.

Last day of Kindergarten
June 28, 2013

I can't believe how grown up my little girl is getting!
She has officially lost 2 teeth and her first permanent tooth has started to pop up.

This is a silhouette of Madison one of the parents in her class made for each kid. I cannot believe how incredibly accurate it is. I was super impressed.

For her last day of Kindergarten the kids performed a bunch of songs in both French and English for all the parents.
It was kind of fun to hear them show off their French skills.

(I hate taking pictures indoors and too far back...)

Oh but the real kicker was when they announced the graduating class of 2025! (Exactly 20 years after her Momma graduated)

And just like that... we now have a future 1st grader.

Baby Doll...

Well it's official... Even Aubrey is ready to have a new baby in the family. Until recently she has had zero interest in playing with dolls, but in nursery this week, she did not put this doll down.

Honestly, I don't think Aubrey really understands that there is going to be a new baby in our house in the next week or so but it does my heart good to see her playing with and loving her baby doll.

I do have to admit I'm a bit nervous to see how she is going to adjust to having a little brother.
I know she is going to love him.
And I'm afraid sometimes she is going to love him a little too much.
I also worry she might struggle with having to share our attention... but I think she will still get enough attention that this shouldn't be too big of a problem... but I am still nervous.
I guess all we can do is wait until next week and see what happens.
Wish us luck!

This picture was taken after church this same day. She was so tired from playing so hard, she couldn't make it any further than the kitchen floor before she crashed. :)

Our Anniversary... or the wedding day.

On June 15th, Karl and I  celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary.
And what better way to celebrate your anniversary than to relive your wedding day by attending the wedding of your brother?
(It's probably a good thing I was 9 months pregnant and we wouldn't have been doing much to celebrate our anniversary this year anyway right?)

Actually, it was really neat to be sitting in the temple and listening to the same vows being spoken that were spoken to us 7 years ago.
The only not fun part about the day was the part where we thought our little guy was going to be sharing his birthday with our anniversary...
This, Karl was not ok with. :)

I knew if we could make it through the day without having this baby, I could for sure make it another couple of weeks.
By the time the reception rolled around, I was confident we were going to be at the hospital having that baby. Somehow though, (it was nothing short of a miracle) I made it through the day. Since I was only 36 weeks along, we truly were grateful baby boy didn't make his appearance. I don't ever want to have to have another NICU experience again!

I realize now how glad I am Robbie and Brittany wanted to do a photo shoot at the temple earlier in the week because by the day of the wedding my desire to take pictures had almost completely dwindled. I did manage to get a few good ones at the temple but didn't really touch my camera the rest of the day.

We had quite the crowd waiting outside the temple to see the new Bride and Groom after the wedding...

Sorry Mom, you don't always just get to be behind the camera.

Congratulations Robbie and Brittany!!!
We are so glad to have you as a part of our family Brittany.
As Brooklyn would say, "She's finally my aunt!"

The pre-wedding photo shoots...

Last week I got to go out with my brother and his then Fiance to do a couple of pre-wedding photo shoots.
Although I was feeling very pregnant, and very ready for this baby to be done cooking and had no clue how these pictures would turn out... I think we got some fun shots. These are just a few of my favorites.

Robbie and Brittany won a free photo shoot with this old fashioned car at the Bridal Fair back in April. We were all excited to get to go down and take these pictures. Not only was it a cool car but it fit with the theme of the wedding and their personalities so well.

We also decided since Robbie had already seen the bride in her dress (she actually wore my wedding dress) that it would be a good idea to get some pictures taken at the temple before hand so we didn't have to take so long on the actually wedding day.

We had a couple extra "helpers" for this photo shoot.

I love these next two pictures. First of all... the bride and groom pushing around a double stroller...
And second of all... Brooklyn was so hot and just wanted to lay in the shade... where ever that may have been.

It was fun having basically the whole temple grounds to ourselves for this shoot... we got some fun pictures that would have been impossible to get on the actual day of the wedding.

Next up... the actual wedding.
And might I just say, it's a good thing we did these pre-wedding photo shoots because I barely took any pictures the day of the actual wedding. My body was completely beat by then so I hope other people got lots of good pictures.

A long to do list...

So I've got this list of things I am really hoping to accomplish before we have this baby...
Or better yet, before my brothers wedding that's happening this weekend because I'm just certain I will go into labor on the day of the wedding... (which is also mine and Karl's anniversary) because it would be the absolute worst possible day for it to happen. You know, Murphy's Law.

The list includes all sorts of things from deep cleaning our house, finishing projects in the basement, getting oil off the driveway... the important stuff. We have been working pretty hard these past few weeks to get as much stuff done as we can, but it seems like our list has only gotten longer, not shorter.

Now that we really have started our final count down to baby day... 3 and a half weeks left... I know I've really got to start kicking it in to high gear. So how did we decide to spend our day today?
Playing and having fun of course. :)

Playing dress up- makeup and all.
Aren't you glad they aren't your makeup artists?

 Playing with the neighbors dog...

Mastering the bike without training wheels.
We started teaching her last year but never actually mastered it.
Today with a little help from her friend Vera, she is now a pro.

Can you believe she didn't actually fall on this turn?

We may not have checked much of anything off of our list today...
Ok so I didn't actually check anything off our list today, but we had a great day doing it.
