Random happenings...

It always seems as though I end up with a bunch of random pictures at the end of the month that haven't made it into a post of their own but most definitely should not be forgotten. These are those pictures. :)

The night she went to bed cold. Keep in mind it's July and the heat is on full force these days...

This little girl has never loved reading but lately has started to turn into a little bookworm. I would be completely ok if this habit continued...

Playing croquet with Nana.

So many summer birthdays...

A sure way to get all the kids to come and play... pull out an Ipad.

We've been doing lots of bike riding this summer. We got a new seat for the littles. I think they kind of like it.

First time ever immunization day hasn't ended with fevers and orneryness...

I love how well these two get along. I mean, they definitely have their moments... but for the most part, they are best friends.

iPhone shots...

Karl and I finally upgraded to the new iphones last month. The best part of the new phones is the upgrade in cameras. Now, it still doesn't compare to my dslr by any means, but it sure is convenient to use and always happens to be with me, so it gets used a lot.
I've also started using instagram... so there really has been a pretty big increase in the amount of pictures I have been taking lately.

The girls used their birthday quarters to pay for a trip to the new planetarium with Aunt Michelle.

Loving the trail behind our house this summer...

Swimming at our pool...

Look, they're actually getting along!!!

We spent the day at the doctors with little Zack this day. The girls got to play at Robbie and Brittany's house while we were gone.

Enjoying a night out at Arctic Circle with our birthday gift card from Joi.

Don't you wish shopping could be so enjoyable for you?

Helping dad fix his bike.

This one was for their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles loving dad...

Don't mess with this...

Playing in the kiddie pool... er, water table.

I've started a new adventure working at the Farmer's Market with my sister-in-law's sister, selling gourmet lemonade. This was my first Saturday on the job. I came home and found my husband had not only taken care of all 4 kids, but he cleaned the house and made homemade bread! He's a keeper!

The girls got to play at Scheel's with Michelle and Katie one day too.

Feeling the love...

We got to see our cousin Kelli before she flew back home to New York. I also got to see her sister, Joanna, before she flew back home to Vermont but we failed to take a picture... It's always fun to get together with some of my favorite people.

Brooklyn colored a picture for the Sketcher store coloring contest last week and we just found out she won! They let her pick out any shoes she wanted (valued at $40) and got this really cute back pack filled with school supplies, socks and goodies. We saw this same back pack last week at Shopko on sale for $25. She totally hit the jack pot!

Zackie was trying to ride the four wheeler in nursery...

Pioneer day celebrations...

After seeing all of my friends posting pictures of their children at the parades on the fourth of July, I realized we hadn't taken our kids to a parade since Brooklyn was a baby. And since I had to take Zack in to get his birthday shots the day of the Bountiful city parade, I decided it was worth taking a blanket and throwing it down on the grass to save us a spot for the parade that night.

Karl's office is right next door to our Doctors office where we layed out our blankets so in the afternoon we headed to his work where we parked our car. We then headed over to the park to enjoy the festivities for a bit before going back to meet Dad to eat dinner in his air conditioned office. Did I mention how hot of a day it was? Wow, it was hot! After we enjoyed the cool air for a while, we headed back outside to wait with the hundreds of others for the parade to start.

After the parade ended, we headed back over to the park to enjoy a few rides, snowcones, cotton candy and scones. Yum.

We ended the evening with a complete down pour! Considering the heat we had been in all day, I don't think anyone seemed to mind. In fact, the girls found it to be the perfect opportunity to dance in the rain.

For the actual 24th we started our day with a big brunch at our house with all of my family complete with Pancakes and dutch oven potatoes. Once again, yum!

That evening the kids did a few sparklers before the girls and I headed over to the neighbors house for another wonderful firework show. Other than the firework that tipped over and started the field on fire, we had a great time.

I sure love this time of year. So many fun things to do and celebrate. Thanks to the Mormon Pioneers for sacrificing everything to settle this wonderful state and giving us the religious freedom so many desired.
