Music to my ears...

We had a real break through tonight with Aubrey in terms of speech. Although she has been jabbering A LOT as of late and we are certain she knows what she is saying, the rest of us are usually at a loss as far as understanding her goes. Occasionally she will slip a real "understandable" word into the mix but she's never really consistent. During her last speech session with our therapist, she even said "I love it!" as clear as day. We both stopped in our tracks and had to ask if the other had heard what we just had. But she hasn't done it since. So we know she the ability to talk, I just don't think she realizes yet that she can really talk.
But tonight. She wanted to talk.
And talk she did.

The scenario is this. Madison asks Aubrey a question and she proceeds to answer. When she feels like she has answered the question she stops and waits for Maddie to ask her another question. This went on for a good 10-15 minutes before we made Madison go to bed. Let's just say, Aubrey was NOT very happy with us for stopping their game.

You still can't understand a word she says, but I am confident she knows exactly what she is saying.

Way to go sweet girl. Keep up the good work.

You've heard of Throw Back Thursday...

Well this is kind of a "Throw in all the random pictures from the month Thursday" I guess... For some reason I haven't gotten around to blogging lately. So you get it all at once.
And random it will be.

"Mom, the cupcake melted!"
(Little did she know that Mom ate the cupcake and left behind the frosting...)

The little lady who likes to play anywhere and with anything she knows she's not supposed to.
Like on her sisters bed...
(Well ok, we don't NOT let her play on the bed. We just usually try to keep her out of that room because she always makes a huge mess)
Or on top of the table...
 Or in the movie drawer...

Daddy was certain he could paint her nails...
He gave up after 3 fingers. Something about, it's too hard to paint a moving target?

I recovered our nasty bar stools the other day.
It was so worth the few dollars I spent on fabric!

I finally had my first year blog book published a few weeks back. It only took me 5 years to make it happen. I got a really good coupon so I decided to order my second year book while I was at it.
It finally came in the mail the other day. Brooklyn was so excited because it was the year she was born so she was actually in this book. The cover ended up being slightly lighter than the first book- but that was my own fault- but other than that it was perfect.

And then I opened the book...
And I didn't recognize a single thing in it.
Apparently our cover got put on someone else's book, and I can only assume our book ended up with someone else's cover...

Obviously Aubrey was really tired this day, but she wanted to be where ever I was...
Out of all the places she could have chosen, this was probably the most unusual spot to crash. Actually, this specific spot is a favorite at our house right now. Something about that super comfy rug and that heat vent sends the girls running to our bathroom first thing in the morning- or anytime the heater is on for that matter.

Sportin' the new hairdo's...
At our house, a ponytail is a very rare and special occurrence. Although Maddie's hair is getting pretty long in back, she still has a lot of shorter length hair in front, making it almost impossible to pull it all back. It's finally getting to the point that with a little bit of pixie dust, and a whole lot of hairspray, we can pull her hair back.
She loves it. And I do too.

I just can't get enough of these two handsome boys.
Zacky and Donny are pretty much the exact same size and although there are a few obvious differences (like hair color and skin color) they could very well be brothers instead of just cousins.

Gotta love that cheeser face. Silly girl.

Welp, you made it to the end. Finally.
How was that for random?

An interesting week...

So it seems the sick season has started, and we have yet to go a day without something ailing someone in our family. Last week it was pink eye, then the sniffles and coughs were next.
We've tried to have a bit of fun mixed in with the sickies... but we would much rather go without the latter.
Unfortunately, this little girl ended up with a stomach bug today...
(these pictures are obviously not from today)
Luckily for her, she got to spend the day with this guy... who just so happened to have the day off for the holiday.
This girl sure loves her Daddy!
But you know she had to be sick because never before have I seen her spend the entire day laying in bed and sleeping most the day long.

And this little guy has had better days as well. Today was shot day for him. He too has spent the majority of the day sleeping.
(These picture are also, not from today)

Another "interesting" thing for this gal... I ended up cutting her hair WAY shorter than anticipated... It's hard to catch a moving target without slipping a few times. It's a good thing hair grows back. :)

On a happier note: The Christmas ads have started rolling in.
These two have had a wonderful time circling pretty much everything they see in the magazines... hoping that Santa will find the perfect gifts for them this year.

So how has your week been so far?

Four months and growing fast...

Our little guy is four months old today.
It seems like he should be a lot older than that at times.
I mean, my girls weren't his size until they were almost a year.
And Aubrey... that's another story.
He's probably only 5 pounds off of Aubrey right now...
I guess we will see for sure next week at his doctors appointment.
But in the mean time. I just love this little guy!
It's true you know, what they say about little boys.
He has definitely stolen his Mama's heart!
I mean, look at that smile!
 And those chubby bubby cheeks!

We sure do love you big guy.
Happy fourth month to ya.
